Position Summary:

Position Summary: The Director/Managing Director will be a senior leader within our firm, responsible for independently originating new business, building strong relationships in the investor community, overseeing deal execution, and working towards strengthening UC’s brand. This position presents an excellent opportunity for a leadership role at the firm and transform into a trusted financial advisor for our clients. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Originate new business opportunities from existing and new clients.
  • Oversee deal execution across a variety of industry sectors and products, including structuring capital market solutions, and advising clients on M&A matters.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of client and investor relationships to add value to the firm.
  • Strong finance, tax, and legal knowledge in international capital markets. Find creative capital market solutions to meet clients' needs.
  • Lead the development of new product capabilities, industry sector coverage, and/or new lines of business.
  • Interface with regulators and other government bodies, as necessary.
  • Effectively represent the firm in public forums, including industry conferences.
  • Train, develop, and mentor junior resources at the firm.

Qualifications:

  • 10–15 years of relevant investment banking experience.
  • Significant capital markets and/or M&A transaction execution experience. Exceptionally strong investment banking skills in one or more product areas, especially equity.
  • Track record of independent deal origination/revenue generation.
  • Existing client, investor, and/or regulatory relationships that bring value to the organization.
  • Strong command of theoretical finance concepts, with a desire to mentor and teach junior colleagues.
  • Demonstrated abilities in team leadership, mentoring, and training.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of financial institutions and MFIs. Added knowledge of social investment space is a plus.
  • MBA or an equivalent degree desirable.

Position Summary:

Summary: The Associate Vice President is an integral member of our team working directly with Vice Presidents and Senior Management in all facets of our business, including origination and execution of transactions, and building relationships with investors and industry experts.  


Primary Responsibilities:  

 

• Work on a wide range of assignments/transactions, from initial client pitches through transaction closings, mergers, and acquisitions; and other strategic advisory services.  


• Lead transaction execution including investor reach-out and pitches, negotiation of terms, working with third-party service providers like lawyers, valuers, due-diligence agencies, etc, as well as advise on and finalisation of definitive documents, closing, etc.   

• Communicate regulatory, financial information and complex strategic issues in a clear, concise, and relevant manner to assist and guide transaction structure.  

• Ability to market services both to internal partners and external clients, develop client networks, and support efforts in developing and executing strategies for client acquisition. 

• Ensure quality of client deliverables by having a strong attention to detail. 

• Mentor and develop junior staff. 

Individuals will be assigned a wide variety of projects and given as much responsibility as their experience and capabilities permit.  



Qualifications:

• MBA with major in Finance or Economics (or equivalent degree), desirable.  


• Superior financial modelling skills with solid experience in accounting and business valuation techniques.  

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.  

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, and specifically Excel and PowerPoint.  

• 5-7 years of experience at an investment bank or boutique M&A or private equity advisory firm with solid transaction experience across a range of transaction types.  


• Demonstrated experience in managing of day-to-day aspects of client relationships and transactions with superior attention to detail and quality deliverables.  

• Superior research and business/financial analysis skills.  

• Strong understanding of business valuation techniques, including comparable company/transaction analysis and discounted cash flow analysis.  

• Experience with or networks with venture capital and private equity ecosystem in India.  

• Knowledge of social investment space desirable.  

• Demonstrated ability to work independently coupled with solid team skills.  

• Ability to multi-task.  

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50% of time away from Bangalore).

Position Summary:

Summary:

The Associate is a key member of the UC team, and this position presents an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of innovative transactions for impact businesses, with exposure to different industry sectors, geographies, and varied structure products.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Execution. The Associate will be a part of a 2-3 member transaction execution team and will be responsible for executing the transactions end to end with the team. This will involve (i) aiding preparation of materials like information memorandum, financial models, teasers, competitive analyses and mapping, and valuation models as well as working with junior analysts/analysts as required (ii) day-to-day management of investor calls and meetings and aiding senior members in leading investor conversations (iii) aiding senior team members in term sheet and SHA/SSA discussions and negotiations (iv) relationship building with the client and relevant counterparts in the client team. The Associate should have the necessary experience and skill sets to guide on/finalize marketing materials like information memorandum and business projections with adequate strategic guidance from the seniors on the transaction team.

  • Business Development. The Associate will have the additional responsibility to support respective sector leads in business development including (i) research and analysis of industry, economic, market, and regulatory data as required to support sector coverage activities and (ii) assist in preparing presentations/marketing materials for use in client coverage, other business development activities, conferences, etc.

  • Corporate Development. The Associate will also be jointly responsible with the rest of the team for helping with internal initiatives such as maintaining sector and investor databases, revenue/transaction milestone tracking, corporate presentations and business development materials, newsletters, and company website.

  • Other. Support senior team members and clients in any other ancillary tasks from time to time as needed.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in investment banking and an MBA from a premier institution or CFA.

  • Excellent skills with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • High degree of expertise in building and analyzing financial models.

  • High degree of expertise in preparing investment memorandum, presentations, conducting secondary research, industry analysis, etc.

  • Experience with or networks with venture capital and private equity ecosystem in India.

  • Strong fundamental understanding of accounting and financial statement analysis.

  • Strong understanding of business valuation techniques, including comparable company/transaction analysis and discounted cash flow analysis.

  • Strong desire to work hard.

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
